Antique Clock Case Display Cupboard c1800

This would originally been the the hood of a long case clock dating to around 1800. It has subsequently been repurposed from the out of fashion grandfather clock to produce a charming and infinitely useful display case. It very much maintains the style and character of a piece of antique furniture, with the worn gilded patterns and brass fittings. The splendid patination of the 200 year old wood with signs of use and wear, and beautiful original glass which, with bubbles and waves really make this piece special.

At some stage during it’s life, but not recently, a shelf has been added and a totally in keeping wall paper backing to add to the decorativeness.
