Antique Cobbler’s Nail Caddy
£295.00
A rarely found example of a two tiered cobbler’s nail cup or caddy, with a lid and a base of cast iron around a piece of solid wood.
With no maker’s mark, as these nail cups often have, it is possible that this is actually in part scratch built. Especially given the rawness of the base crudity of the lid.
Each section rotates and would have been for different sized nails used by the workman. Now days of course more likely to sit on a desk or in an industrial office for paperclips etc. Made in the late 19th century it stands 30cm tall and 26cm at it’s widest.
