Antique Stool with Flared Legs

This is such a wonderful piece of art and design, surely made as an artisan’s stool by a top quality craftsman. The legs and stretchers are elm topped by a nicely aged seat.

Made around the turn of the century, the splayed and tapered legs make this one of the most unusual and beautiful stools I have ever found. At 53cm tall it could easily now be used as a plant stand, a small drinks table or just a stand out piece of kitchen furniture.

Signs of age and use can be seen as you might expect, but nothing to detract from it’s fine form.
