As you can see this was cast in bronze to celebrate and commemorate the birth of a child in 1882. Inscribed with the name of Guimet, this would have been a wealthy and important family of the time.
The Guimet Museum was first opened in France in 1879, but whether or not this has anything to do with that particular family is yet to be proven either way.
A fine piece of casting of great detail and quality, it is 13cm x 9cm.
