A bronze sculpture possibly dating from the early 2oth century depicting a “devil” or creature with devil like features. Although there are no markings that I can find it could be attributed to Franz Xaver Bergmann, the world renowned artist who produced numerous patinated cold painted bronzes from his factory in Vienna. A stunning work of art.
The 11cm long x 6cm high piece is particularly attractive due to the incredible deep red colour and small areas of bronze showing through, producing a remarkable patina.
