Double Sided Late 19th Century Felt Hat Mould

A stunning rare example of a late 19th century, wooden double sided hat mould.
Also known as a former cone, the milliner would wrap the felt around then cut it in half as the first step towards producing a wool felt hat.
The rich patina of the wood now makes a lovely decorative object and conversation starter.
It is 66cm long and 27cm wide. The hard wood base is an addition for display purposes but is included.
