Early 20th Century Prosthetic Leg
£180.00
This wonderful articulated false leg was made around the time of the first world war and may well have been for an injured serviceman or woman. Manufactured out of aluminiun and leather or vellum.
Times have changed in prosthetics, from the very early wooden limbs to todays highly specialised robotic hands. This example shows the great advancement in more modern materials and lifelike articulation.
Obviously this limb has signs of wear (literally) commensurate with age with the dulled metal and worn leather. It, I’m sure, could be polished fairly easily if desired or left as is with it’s own story.
95cm when fully extended.
