Hand Painted Railway Coat of Arms
£60.00
This is such a lovely thing. The label on the reverse reads:
This “London & South Western Railway” coat of arms was painted by Mr. Gordon Mackley when he was a clerical officer at the South Western Divisional Managers office at 19 Worpole Road Wimbledon London SW19 sometime during his time there in the 1970s. P.D Facer 25th May 2005
It’s actually dated 23/9/74. And signed by what I think is G. Mackley.
It’s hand painted on a lovely 5mm thick piece of wood measuring 45cm x 48cm with just a couple of marks as you might expect.
It really does deserve to be owned and displayed by a railway enthusiast or ex L&SWRC employee.
