Industrial Steel Desk (Early 20th Century)
This remarkable office desk is believed to have once sat in Colney Hall, Norfolk England, owned at the time by Hugh Gurney Barclay (Barclays Bank).
Made by Roneo Ltd some time during the reign of King George V (1910-1936). The gorgeous Rusted top has the fantastic patination which has stabilised over time and so does not brush off, although a clear coating could be applied if so desired to seal it.
The top is also beautifully finished off with a superb brass edging surround and complimented by the brass handle on the single draw. The simple square tapered legs are removable for easier transportation and have been more recently painted black.
There are signs or wear and rust, as to be expected with it’s age and character.
The desk stands 78cm high and is 152.5cm x 91.5cm (5ft x 3ft)
