Large Marble and Metal Crucifix

A stunning, old and large depiction of Jesus Christ on the cross.

60cm x 34cm, the cross itself is made of grey unpolished marble which creates a wonderful gothic look and is very tactile. A repaired crack on the rear at one time in its life, adds I feel, to its rich history. The INRI and Jesus figure are a wonderfully aged metal with nice detailing.

This beautiful crucifix is from France and would have been hung outside, possibly as a graveside ornament.

I have seen many crucifixes on my travels but this one really has the look and feel. Aged just enough to create a story and substantial enough not to go unnoticed on any wall, inside or out.
