Stick Back Windsor Arm Chair
Every part of this chair screams character, with a glowing warm patina and quirky arms, you can tell that it really has been used and loved over it’s 200 plus years. Always a difficult item to date and indentify the origin of, this Windsor Chair is believed to be a late 18th early 19th century example, and most likely from Lincolnshire, England.
A surprisingly comfortable chair, and still very sturdy. The repair to the arm was obviously carried out many many years ago, and who ever did it was extremely skilled.
Back when this was made, a craftsman ( let’s face it, it was a man) couldn’t afford to scrap an imperfect piece of furniture and so if one arm curved out slightly more than the other, so be it. All part of it’s charm.
I hope you adore this beautiful and charming chair as much as I do.
